General cargo : General cargo shares half the traffic that is handled at the Port of Montreal. Comprising of non-containerized and containerized general cargo, general cargo is the most efficient sector of the port.

Containerized general cargo : Containerized general cargo is engaged in transporting stuffs like car parts, constructions materials, foodstuffs, alcoholic beverages, clothing and fabrics, paper, pulp, steel, alloys and so on.

Non-containerized general cargo : Non-containerized general cargo is engaged in transporting materials like rolling stock, stone products, metal products, forest products, foodstuffs and steel.

Dry bulk : Dry bulk cargo transshipment center of Montreal Port specializes in transporting raw materials like fertilizers, iron ore, rock salt, copper ore, gypsum, industrial sand and raw sugar.

Liquid bulk : Montreal Port handles liquid bulks like petroleum, chemicals, molasses and vegetable oils.
